Ed Sheeran is broadening his musical horizons.
The British popstar, who is currently on his Mathematics Tour, surprised fans with his special guest for his concert in Mumbai, India, on Saturday. During his set at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, Sheeran brought out Indian singer-songwriter Diljit Dosanjh for a duet of Dosanjh’s song “Lover.”
Dosanjh bounced around onstage as he sang the pulsing electro-R&B track, while Sheeran accompanied him on guitar and sang in Punjabi.
“Got to bring out @diljitdosanjh tonight in Mumbai and sing in Punjabi for the first time,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram alongside a clip of the performance. “I’ve had such an incredible time in India, more to come!”
Dosanjh also gushed about their performance with a video on Instagram, writing, “Brother singing in (PUNJABI) for the first time.”

Sheeran’s unexpected performance with Dosanjh elated several Indian stars, many of whom shared their enthusiasm in the comments section of Sheeran’s Instagram post.
“This is unreal 🙌” singer Jassi Sidhu commented.
“Whaaaatttt🔥 not crying! Not crying,” comedian and rapper Munawar Faruqui wrote.

Sheeran and Dosanjh’s duet set social media ablaze, with astonished fans expressing their amazement at the singers’ collaboration.
